About this tool
This calculator shows the paid annual leave you earn in Korea under the Labor Standards Act.
In your first year of service you earn 1 day for every full month attended, up to 11 days.
After one full year, with at least 80% attendance, you earn 15 days, and after three years you add 1 day every 2 years up to a maximum of 25 days, which is 15 plus the whole number of (years of service minus 1) divided by 2.
The 15 days arise only if you are still employed on day 366, and the 11 days of the first year are not subtracted from the 15.
With the fiscal-year method, a worker who starts on March 1 gets 15 times the days worked in the start year divided by 365 on January 1 of the next year, so 306 days gives about 12.6 days, but rounding of fractions is not set by law and differs by company, so confirm with your employer.
If you leave, the company settles any difference from the start-date method. Workplaces with fewer than five employees are not covered by these rules, so the calculator shows 0 days for them.
The result is an estimate for reference, was not provided or verified by any government agency, and does not replace advice from a labor professional, so confirm with your employer or the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
