About this tool

Your grade point average (GPA) is the sum of each course's credits multiplied by its grade points, divided by the total credits. On the 4.5 scale used by many Korean universities, A+ is 4.5, A0 is 4.0, B+ is 3.5, B0 is 3.0, C+ is 2.5, C0 is 2.0, D+ is 1.5, D0 is 1.0 and F is 0. The 4.3 scale adds minus grades, such as A- at 3.7, and A+ is 4.3. For example, a 3-credit A+, a 3-credit B+ and a 2-credit A0 on the 4.5 scale give (3 x 4.5 + 3 x 3.5 + 2 x 4.0) / 8 = 4.0. The percentage conversion uses the simple general formula, GPA divided by the scale maximum times 100, so 4.0 on a 4.5 scale is about 88.9. Schools, graduate programs and employers often publish their own conversion table, so check the one you are submitting to. Leave out pass/fail courses, and note that some schools drop retaken grades. Nothing you enter is saved or sent.
