About this test

Which hanbok color are you?

This hanbok color test matches your personality with one of eight Korean traditional colors: scarlet (dahong), indigo (jjokbit), sprout green (yeondu), gardenia yellow (chija), blossom pink (bunhong), ink black (meoksaek), jade (oksaek) and plum purple (jaju).

Hanbok is traditional Korean clothing, and a classic outfit is a short jacket called jeogori worn with a skirt called chima.

If you have ever wondered which traditional color suits you, or you want a fresh idea for a color-based personality test with a Korean twist, this quiz gives you a swatch and a styling idea in about a minute.

How does it work? You answer eight short questions about your happiest days, photo mood, the way you walk into a room, what your friends count on you for and your dream hobby.

Each answer points toward one of the eight colors, and the color you collect the most becomes your result.

Your result card shows color swatches, the Korean name with an easy romanization, a note on what the color is traditionally associated with, a jeogori and chima pairing to imagine, a personality read, one cute flaw and a closing compliment.

Are the color meanings official? Please treat them as friendly background rather than strict rules.

Traditional color meanings are described here with careful wording such as 'is often linked with', because they can differ by region, era and source, and they are not a formal fortune.

The hex swatches are close digital approximations, not exact dye colors, and they will look a little different on every screen. We use swatches and emoji instead of photos on purpose. What can you do with your result?

Screenshot the swatch card for a story, use the pairing as outfit inspiration if you rent a hanbok on a trip, or compare with a friend to see who is a calm indigo and who is a festive scarlet.
