About this tool
Korea unified its age system on 28 June 2023, so civil law and administration now use the international age, called man-age. Your man-age is the number of full years since your birth date: it rises by one on each birthday and is zero at birth. Year age is the current year minus the birth year, and the old traditional Korean age is year age plus one. For example, someone born on 2000-12-31 is 25 years old in man-age on 2026-10-12, 26 in year age and 27 in the old counting. Year age is still used by a few laws such as the Youth Protection Act and military service, so check the rule that applies to you. The zodiac animal here follows the calendar year, so people born in January or early February may belong to the previous lunar year. A 29 February birthday is counted as 1 March in years that are not leap years. Everything is calculated in your browser and your birth date is never stored or sent.
