About this tool
This calculator estimates your monthly take-home pay in Korea using 2026 rates. Employees pay four social insurances out of their salary. The National Pension is 4.75 percent of the taxable monthly pay (half of the 9.5 percent total rate), and the base income is limited to a range that changes every July; from July 2026 it runs from 410,000 to 6,590,000 won. Health Insurance is 3.595 percent (half of 7.19 percent), Long-term Care Insurance is 13.14 percent of the health insurance premium, and Employment Insurance is 0.9 percent. Income tax is estimated with an approximation of the National Tax Service's simplified withholding table, and local income tax is 10 percent of that amount. Meal allowance up to 200,000 won a month is non-taxable and is excluded from the base. For example, a monthly salary of 3,000,000 won with 1 dependent and 200,000 won non-taxable gives National Pension 133,000, health 100,660, long-term care 13,220, employment 25,200, income tax 42,460 and local tax 4,240, so the take-home pay is about 2,681,220 won. Your payslip can differ because companies apply the official table and year-end settlement later adjusts the final tax. The result is a reference estimate and does not replace advice from a tax or labor professional. Child tax credits are not included.
How to use
- Type your monthly salary before tax, in won.
- Check the non-taxable amount (default 200,000 won for meals) and choose the number of dependents including yourself.
- Read your estimated monthly take-home pay and each deduction in the table.
- Compare with your payslip, since companies and year-end settlement can change the final amounts.
