About this test

Which Seoul neighborhood matches your vibe?

This Seoul neighborhood quiz is a playful trip planner that matches your personality with one of ten popular areas of Seoul: Seongsu, Hongdae, Yeonnam, Ikseon-dong, Bukchon, Mangwon, Euljiro, Hannam, Jamsil and Yeouido.

If you are planning a trip to Seoul, wondering where to stay or which area to explore first, or you just like picking a place to match your mood, this quiz gives you an idea in about a minute.

Each result shows the neighborhood name in Hangul with its English spelling, the nearest subway station, and three things to try: a café, a walk and a spot to browse or shop. How does the quiz work?

You answer ten short questions about your ideal morning, snacks, outfits, evenings, souvenirs and the way you choose where to go.

Each answer points toward one of the ten neighborhoods, and the area you collect the most becomes your result.

We only describe general places and the kinds of things the area is known for, not specific shops or brands, because places change quickly.

Station names and lines are meant to help you get started, so please check an up-to-date map before you travel. What is Seoul like for first-time visitors?

The city is easy to explore by subway, and each area has a different mood: factory cafés in one place, traditional hanok lanes in another, a riverside picnic spot in a third.

Hanok are traditional Korean houses, and in places like Bukchon people actually live there, so visitors are asked to keep quiet and be respectful.

A neighborhood's mood can change by season and time of day, so think of your result as a starting point. This quiz is made for fun and travel inspiration.

Share your neighborhood with your travel buddies, compare results, and see whether you would end up in the same part of town.

Some Bukchon lanes have visitor hours (about 10am–5pm) and rules can change, so check the local notice before you go. If you like this one, try our trip packing style test next.
