About this tool
This random team maker splits a list of names into the number of teams you choose, or draws a set number of winners. Type one name per line, or separate names with commas, up to 200 names. In team mode the names are shuffled and dealt out one by one, so team sizes never differ by more than one person: 10 names in 3 teams make teams of 4, 3 and 3. In lucky draw mode the first names of the shuffled list become the winners. The shuffle uses your browser's secure random number generator with unbiased selection, so every name has exactly the same chance. Use it for class groups, office lunch teams, game nights, gift exchanges or event prizes. Please use nicknames rather than real names. Names stay in your browser; when you share a result, it is placed only after the # in the link, which is never sent to a server. Press the shuffle button again for a new result.
How to use
- Type names, one per line, using nicknames if you like.
- Choose Team splitter or Lucky draw and set the number of teams or winners.
- Press the button to see the result.
- Share the result link or press shuffle again.
