This calculator estimates the unemployment benefit (gujik geubyeo) paid under Korea's Employment Insurance.
The daily benefit is 60% of your average daily wage, which is the pay of the last 3 months divided by the calendar days in that period.
It cannot go above the upper limit of 68,100 KRW a day, which is for people who left a job in 2026, and it cannot fall below the lower limit of 80% of the minimum wage times your daily scheduled hours, which is 66,048 KRW for an 8-hour day at the 2026 minimum wage of 10,320 KRW.
The number of benefit days depends on your age and insured period, from 120 days for under one year up to 240 days, or 270 days if you are 50 or older or disabled.
For example, if you earned 10,200,000 KRW over the last 92 days, your average daily wage is about 110,870 KRW, 60% is 66,522 KRW, and with 2 years of insurance at age 40 you get 150 days, so the total is about 9,978,300 KRW.
To qualify you generally need 180 or more insured days in the 18 months before leaving, an involuntary exit, and active job seeking, and payments are made only within 12 months after you leave.
