About this tool
A wedding budget calculator (wedding cost estimator) adds up the venue, studio-dress-makeup package, rings and gifts, honeymoon and home furnishing costs, subtracts the gift money you expect to receive, and shows how much each of you really pays.
How do you work out the real cost of a wedding? Total = venue + package + rings + honeymoon + home setup. Real burden = total minus expected gift money, then split by your ratio.
For example, with the sample amounts of 53 million KRW in total and 25 million KRW of gift money, the net cost is 28 million KRW, and a 50:50 split is 14 million KRW each. How long will it take to save my share?
Divide your share by your monthly savings and round up: 14 million KRW at 1.5 million KRW a month takes 10 months.
Gift money usually arrives after the ceremony, so the calculator also shows the amount you must prepare in advance, before any gifts.
All default numbers are made-up examples, not averages or statistics; replace them with your own quotes. The split applies one ratio to every item for simplicity, and interest on savings is not included.
Some couples split gift money by what each family received. The result is a reference estimate and does not replace advice from a financial professional.
