About this tool

A discount calculator (sale price calculator, percent-off calculator, 할인율 계산기) shows the final price after one or two discounts and how much you really save.

Final price = original price x (1 - discount / 100) x (1 - coupon / 100). Because a second discount applies to the already reduced price, two discounts do not add up.

For example, a 120,000 won jacket at 30% off costs 84,000 won, and an extra 10% coupon takes 8,400 won more, so the final price is 75,600 won, a saving of 44,400 won, which is a real total discount of 37% and not 40%.

How do I find the percent off from two prices? Use the percent calculator, or set the discount here and adjust until the final price matches. How is stacked discount different from adding percentages?

Adding 30% and 10% gives 40%, but applying them one after another gives 37%. Another example: a 50 dollar item with 20% off and a 15% coupon is 50 x 0.8 x 0.85 = 34 dollars, a total discount of 32%.

Does the order matter? No, multiplying percentages gives the same result in any order, but some stores apply coupons only to the original price, in which case the discounts really add; check the coupon terms.

Tax, shipping and points are not included. All numbers are calculated in your browser. This is a reference tool for shopping decisions and does not replace the store's final checkout price.

How to use

  1. Enter the original price.
  2. Enter the percent off and, if you have one, an extra coupon percent.
