About this tool
Emoji Word Puzzle is a free daily guessing game where three emojis stand for one word or phrase.
🍕🧀🍅 is pizza, 🌅🌊🐦 is sunrise, and some are phrases like break the ice.
If you enjoy emoji quizzes, rebus puzzles or guess-the-word-from-pictures games, you get a fresh one every day, and everyone sees the same puzzle on the same date. How do you play?
Look at the three emojis, think of what they could mean together, type your answer and press the button.
Letters turn green when they are in the right place, yellow when they are in the answer but elsewhere, and gray otherwise.
You have five tries, and each miss opens a hint: the length of the answer, the first letter, a pattern with the first and last letters, and then the first few letters.
Spaces and capital letters do not matter, and a few common alternative answers are accepted, such as bike for bicycle. How are puzzles picked?
The English and Korean pages use separate answer lists, because wordplay does not translate.
The English list has almost 200 puzzles and the Korean list has more than 220, covering food, weather, places, jobs, animals, objects, feelings, seasons, sports and a few phrases.
Each page visits its list in a fixed shuffled order driven by the date on your device, so a puzzle does not repeat until the whole list has been used, and a countdown shows when the next one comes.
Q: Why is the Korean puzzle different from the English one? A: Switching the language switches to that language's own puzzle of the day, so you can play both. Q: What does the emoji grid show?
A: A row of green, yellow and gray squares for each guess, with no emojis or answer, so it is safe to paste into a chat. Q: Can I play again today?
A: The daily puzzle is one attempt per language, and your finished result is saved in your browser. The puzzles are made for fun, for vocabulary practice and as a little daily habit.
Emoji can look different across phones, so if a picture seems odd, use the hints. Your streak and guesses stay only in this browser.
