About this tool
In East Asian thought, everything is described by five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Your birth year has a Heavenly Stem, one of ten, and each stem belongs to one of these elements. This tool uses the stem of your birth year, switching the year at Ipchun (about February 4), to find your element and give you easy ideas for lucky colors, items, numbers, direction and season. It is a simple, light version meant for fun styling ideas, such as which color to wear on a big day. For a full reading that looks at the whole chart, we link to our Saju calculator. All calculations stay in your browser, and your birth date is never saved or sent anywhere. This is for fun and self-reflection only, a reference that is not a prediction of the future and does not replace professional advice.
How to use
