About this tool

The name stroke game is a classic Korean pastime among friends and couples. Each Hangul letter is broken into its consonants and vowels and the strokes are counted: for example, ใ„ฑ is 2, ใ„ด is 2, ใ„ท is 3 and ใ… is 2, with double consonants and compound vowels added together. The letters of the two names are placed alternately, then each neighboring pair is added and only the last digit is kept, forming a pyramid that shrinks one row at a time. When two digits are left, they become your percentage. This is a playful game with no real predictive power, so any result is just for laughs. The names you type stay in your browser, are never saved or sent, and are never included in the share text. This is for fun and self-reflection only, a reference that is not a prediction of the future and does not replace professional advice.

How to use

  1. Type your name and the other person's name in Hangul.
  2. Press the button and watch the stroke pyramid shrink to a percentage.
  3. Share only the percentage. The names are never included.
