About this tool
Minesweeper online is the classic logic game where you open squares on a grid without touching a hidden mine.
Every opened square shows how many of its eight neighbours hold a mine, and you use those numbers to work out where the mines are.
Your first click is always safe, and the squares around it are mine-free too, so the opening is never a coin toss. How do I play on a phone?
Tap opens a square, and the Flag mode button switches your tap to placing a flag instead; a long press also places a flag, and on a computer you can right-click. What do the levels mean?
Easy is 9×9 with 10 mines, Normal is 12×12 with 26 mines and Hard is 16×16 with 45 mines. Example: if a revealed 1 has only one unopened neighbour, that neighbour must be the mine, so flag it.
Tap a number whose flags already match its count and the remaining neighbours open at once, which is called chording and saves many taps.
The counter shows mines minus the flags you placed, and the timer starts at your first click. Flags are only your own notes, so a wrong flag will not end the game, but opening a mine will.
Nothing leaves your browser and nothing is saved. For a calmer number game try Sudoku Online, or test your speed with the Reaction Time Test.
