A birthday countdown answers a happy little question: how many days until my birthday?
Choose your birth month and day once and this free page shows a big D-day number, the weekday your birthday falls on, the same wait in months and days, and a progress bar between your last birthday and the next one.
On the day itself you see a birthday card instead of a number. How does it work? Your month and day are saved only in your own browser (local storage).
Each time you open the page it reads today's date from your device and finds the next time that month and day comes around, this year or next year.
If you were born on February 29, the page treats February 28 as the birthday in years that have no leap day. The month count uses calendar months, so it matches the way people usually say "two months and ten days to go".
A monthly reminder line tells you that on the same day of each month the number of months left drops by one, which is a nice little milestone to look out for. Adding your birth year is optional.
If you type it, the page also says which birthday is coming, for example "turning 20". If you leave it empty, no age is shown or stored at all.
You can change the date or delete the saved data with one button whenever you like.
Each day there is also a small birthday-season idea, such as choosing the cake flavor you want, making a birthday playlist or writing a letter to your younger self.
The pool has thirty ideas plus six twists that can be added to any of them, giving 180 combinations before a repeat. They are playful nudges only, not advice. Q: Is my birthday sent anywhere? A: No.
It never leaves your device, and there is no account. Q: Why does the count change at midnight? A: The page uses your device's local date, so the number drops by one when your day changes.
Q: Can I check a friend's birthday? A: Yes, pick their month and day, or press the change button; but only one date is saved at a time. Q: Can I share? A: The share button sends a line like "30 days until my birthday.
Count yours too!" without any date in it. This tool is made for fun and personal use. It does not replace official records and does not make predictions about your age, luck or future.
How to use
- Choose your birth month and day. Add your birth year only if you want to see which birthday is coming.
- Press the start button to see the D-day number, weekday, months left and the progress bar.
- Come back any day to watch it shrink, read the daily idea, or change or delete the saved date.
