About this tool
A car ownership cost calculator (car running cost or vehicle upkeep calculator) adds every bill that comes with keeping a car and shows what it costs per month and per year.
Costs you pay every month are fuel, parking, tolls and any loan or lease payment.
Costs you pay once or twice a year are insurance, car tax, repairs and other items such as inspection or tires, and the tool divides those by 12.
Monthly total = monthly items + yearly items / 12, and yearly total = monthly total x 12.
For example, fuel 150,000 + parking 100,000 + tolls 30,000 is 280,000 a month, and yearly items of 2,000,000 add about 166,667, so the monthly total is about 446,667 and the yearly total 5,360,000 KRW.
What is the cost per km? Yearly total divided by the kilometres you drive in a year, here about 447 KRW per km. Why are there no real prices filled in?
Every number is a made-up sample, because insurance, fuel use and repairs differ a lot by car and driver, so replace each one with your own bills.
Resale value loss is not included, so treat the answer as a reference, not a quote. The calculation stays in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
To see how much of your income goes to the car use the monthly budget calculator, and for tax on the car itself see the car tax calculator.
