About this tool
This GPA scale converter (4.5 to 4.3 conversion, GPA to 100-point score, grade conversion chart) changes a grade point average from one maximum to another.
It gives two answers. The simple ratio divides your GPA by its maximum and multiplies by the new one, so 3.8 out of 4.5 becomes 3.63 out of 4.3.
The grade-table method first finds where your GPA sits between letter grades, then reads the matching value on the other scale, so the same 3.8 becomes about 3.57 on the 4.3 scale and roughly 90 out of 100.
Which one should I use? Use the table method when a form asks for a score, and the ratio when it only asks for a rough comparison. How do I turn a 4.5 GPA into 100 points?
Many schools treat A+ as 95 to 100, A0 as 90 to 94 and so on in 5-point steps, which is what the table below the result shows. Are the results official? No.
Each school and graduate program publishes its own conversion, and the bands used here are common examples, not a rule. Treat the numbers as a reference only and ask the admissions office for the official figure.
To average your own courses first, use the GPA calculator, and for weighted school grades use the school grade average calculator. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is saved or sent.
