About this tool
The Stroop Test is a famous psychology-style puzzle that turns into a fast fun game.
A color word such as RED appears, but it is written in a different ink color, for example in blue. Your job is to tap the button that matches the ink color, not the meaning of the word.
Your brain wants to read the word first, which makes it surprisingly hard to be quick. You have 30 seconds: a right answer gives one point, a wrong answer takes one point away, and your score never goes below zero.
The maximum recorded score is 120. The four buttons show both a color swatch and a color name, so the game stays readable for people with color vision differences.
Look at the color, not the letters, and keep a steady rhythm. Your best score stays in your browser only.
After each run you can post it to this week's TOP 10 with a nickname (not your real name), and send a challenge link so a friend can try to beat your record.
ⓘ This game is just for fun and is not a medical or intelligence test; results vary with your device, mood and sleep.
How to use
- Press Start and look at the color of the letters, not the word itself.
- Tap the button with that ink color. Right is +1, wrong is -1.
- After 30 seconds, check your score and challenge a friend.
