About this tool

This cooking measurement converter (tablespoon to ml, cup to ml, tablespoon to gram calculator) changes a recipe amount into other kitchen units and shows roughly how many grams common ingredients weigh.

It uses 1 tablespoon = 15 ml, 1 teaspoon = 5 ml, a Korean cup of 200 ml and a US cup of 240 ml, so a recipe that says 1 cup can differ by 40 ml depending on its country.

For example, 1 US cup is 240 ml, which is 16 tablespoons, and about 202 g of sugar or 120 g of flour. How many grams is one tablespoon of sugar? About 13 g. How many ml is one cup?

200 ml in Korean recipes and 240 ml in American ones. Can I convert grams for any ingredient? Only for the seven listed: water, sugar, flour, fine salt, cooking oil, honey and uncooked rice, using typical densities.

Real weights change with brand, moisture and how firmly you scoop, so expect an error of 10% or more, and use a kitchen scale for baking.

Paper cups and rice cooker cups are different sizes again, so check the one your recipe means. Everything is calculated in your browser. For other units, see the unit converter or the weight converter.

How to use

  1. Type the amount from your recipe.
  2. Pick the unit: ml, tablespoon, teaspoon, Korean cup or US cup.
  3. Read the other units and the rough grams for each ingredient.
