About this tool

English Phrase of the Day shows one useful everyday sentence every day, with the situation where you would say it and two simple variations.

If you search for an English sentence of the day, daily English expressions or a short phrase to practise, this page keeps it easy: one card, one minute, then you are done.

Sentences such as "I'm running a bit late." or "Could you say that again?" are the kind of lines people really use at cafes, on trips and in chats with friends. How does it work?

The page picks a sentence from a pool of 182 phrases using your device's local date. The order is shuffled in a fixed way, so you will see every phrase before any of them repeats.

Each card has the sentence, a note on when to use it, and two variations you can swap in. On the Korean version of the page you also see the Korean meaning of the main sentence and of each variation.

Tap Listen to hear it read aloud by your own device's built-in voice, copy it into a chat, or save it with the star to build a personal list. Your saved list lives only in this browser on your device.

We do not run any account system, and nothing you tap is uploaded. The small fire counter shows how many days in a row you opened the page on this device, which is a gentle nudge to practise a little every day.

You can browse earlier days with the arrows, while future days stay hidden. Tips for learners: say the sentence out loud three times, then change one word using a variation, and try to use it in a real message today.

Small repeated practice usually beats long study sessions.

The phrases are written in natural, polite and friendly English that works in most casual situations, though tone can differ between countries and people, so treat them as helpful examples rather than strict rules.

This is a free learning aid for fun and practice, not a certified language course. Q: Is it free? A: Yes, no signup. Q: Will the sentence repeat? A: Only after the whole pool has been shown. Q: Can I use it in Korean?

A: Yes, the Korean toggle adds meanings.

How to use

  2. Tap Listen and say it out loud a few times. Copy it into a chat if you like.
  3. Try one of the two variations in a real message today, and save favorites with the star.
  4. Come back tomorrow for a new phrase and keep your streak.
