About this tool
A Korean English keyboard converter fixes text that was typed with the wrong input mode, so gibberish like dkssud becomes the Hangul word 안녕 and the reverse works too.
It happens when you forget to press the Hangul key and type a whole sentence in English letters, or the other way around.
This tool follows the standard 2-set layout (dubeolsik) used on almost every Korean keyboard, where each English key stands for one Hangul letter: d is ㅇ, k is ㅏ, s is ㄴ and so on.
The hard part is putting the letters together into syllables, so the converter handles the details a simple lookup misses: shift keys for double consonants such as ㄲ and ㅆ, compound vowels such as ㅘ and ㅢ, and double final consonants such as the ones in 값 and 읽다.
A final consonant moves to the next syllable when a vowel follows, exactly as it does when you type on a real keyboard. Paste your text, pick the direction, and copy the result.
Use the swap button to convert the answer back and check it. Spaces, numbers and punctuation stay as they are. Text is converted in your browser and is never sent or saved.
How to use
- Pick a direction: English letters to Hangul, or Hangul to English letters.
- Paste or type your text in the box. The converted text appears right away.
- Tap Copy, or tap Swap to run the result back the other way and double-check it.
