About this tool

A payday countdown answers the question every working person asks: how many days until payday?

Choose the day of the month your salary usually arrives, from the 1st to the 31st or the last day of the month, and this free page shows a big D-day number, the date and weekday of your next payday, how many paydays are left this year, and a progress bar from the previous payday to the next one.

How does it work? Your choice is saved in your browser only. The page reads today's date from your device and finds the next payday.

If you picked a day that does not exist in a short month, such as the 31st in April or the 30th in February, it uses the last day of that month.

Many employers pay on the previous business day when the date falls on a weekend, so there is a switch for that: with "move to the previous Friday" on, a Saturday or Sunday payday is shown as the Friday before.

The page does not know public holidays or your company's rules, so it can be a day off from the real transfer date. Please check your own payroll schedule when it matters.

Each day the page also shows a small payday-week mood idea, such as choosing the cafe for your payday coffee, tidying the shopping apps on your phone or writing down three things you enjoyed this month.

The pool holds thirty ideas and six twists that can be added to any of them, so there are 180 suggestions before one comes back.

They are light-hearted and about mood and habits only; this page gives no financial advice, never asks for your salary, and does not connect to any bank. Q: Do I have to enter my pay amount? A: No.

Only the day of the month is used, and it never leaves your device. Q: Why is my payday one day earlier than I expected? A: Probably because of the weekend switch; turn it off if your payday does not move.

Q: Does it know holidays? A: No, so compare with your pay slip. Q: Can I share? A: The share button sends a line like "12 days until payday. Hang in there!" with the link and nothing personal.

This tool is for fun and personal planning of your mood, not financial or legal advice, and it does not replace your employer's payroll information.
