About this tool
A school grade average calculator (the Korean naesin grade average for high school) gives each subject's grade a weight equal to its units, so a 4-unit subject counts more than a 2-unit one.
The formula is the sum of (units x grade) divided by the total units.
For example, Korean (4 units, grade 2), math (4 units, grade 3), English (3 units, grade 1) and science (3 units, grade 2) give (8 + 12 + 3 + 6) / 14 = 29 / 14 = 2.07. How do I calculate my average grade by subject?
Add one row per subject, pick the grade from 1 to 9 and type the units; the result updates at once. Does it match my university's conversion? Not exactly. This tool shows the plain weighted average only.
Universities choose which subjects count, may apply their own conversion tables or bonus rules, and the grading system itself can differ by school year, so check the admission guide of each school.
Subjects graded only by achievement level (A to E) or pass/fail are usually left out, but confirm this with your school. Compare it with the gpa-calculator if you also need a university-style GPA. For reference only.
Nothing you enter is saved or sent anywhere.
